If our links don't work, follow these steps to solve the problem.

  1. Remove any spyware you may have. Try this free spyware remover.
  2. Fix your host file by:
  • Finding the following file:

    Windows XP Home/Pro: "c:windowssystem32driversetchosts"
    Windows NT or 2000: "c:winntsystem32driversetchosts"
Edit the "host" file by right-clicking the file, then select "open with" and then select "Notepad"

Re: Links Don't Work / Spyware FAQ

I use PeerGuardian [methlabs.org], a free utility to block tracking companies and ads. PG blocks linksynergy by default and probably all of those tracking websites listed above.

If you use PG:
When a page comes up as "not found" by IE,
Open PG, copy the most recent ip address blocked (located at the bottom of the status window).
Open the blocklist (from Tools menu),
"Exclude an ip" (from Edit menu),
paste the ip address and click "Exclude From List"
Now click refresh in IE. If page is still blocked, repeat the above steps for the new ip address at the bottom of the status window.

Note: This ip address exclusion will be lost if you do not "Use List In PeerGuardian" (from File menu in List Management window).

This seems like a lot of work, but it's really not, as long as you save your ip exclusion changes when you make them. PeerGuardian [methlabs.org] is an amazing tool and I recommend it to everyone. Between PG and PopUpCop [www.popupcop.com]($20), only about 10% of net advertisements can be displayed in IE because most of them are hosted by ad companies which are blocked. I always support digitaldeals and other websites I respect, but if you don't have to watch commercials, don't watch commercials.
