This purchase was to upgrade an LG Nexus 4 that had been using Staight Talk with a T-Mobile SIM. I will be using the same service with the new phone, but went ahead and purchased a new BYOP plan SIM for ATT. Everything appears to be working fine with Straight Talks recommended APN settings.
Initial impressions are that the phone is very light and slender. The screen is clear and much larger than the Nexus, with no wasted space on the sides. I can lay my Otterbox clad iPhone 5 on top of the screen and still see light coming around the edge. The camera appears very usable but I have not used it much.
If you are accustomed to Android, the interface is straight forward. KitKat is loaded and the manufacturer claims that Lollipop is available (I have not attempted).
What I will miss, NFC capability. This means no Android Beam of pictures or contactless payments with the phone. I did not realize that NFC was not supported and did not think to even look since it seems to be standard in most new phones. Got me on this one.
Overall, good phone and will work fine for its intended purpose.
