Best road mouse I've ever had
5 Stars
Best road mouse I've ever had
My career includes speaking at conferences, training, and consulting on the road, so a good travel mouse that responds well to varying conditions is a big help. This fellow is the best I've ever used for traveling work.I've used various Microsoft laptop models on the road for years, and they're OK. I still prefer the Microsoft Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 for my home office. But my road mouse had been this Logitech for the last several months, and it's a big step up for a travel mouse. It really will work on slicker surfaces than other laser mice. The slickest conference table I've tried gave it no trouble. Cloth coverings on conference lecturn tables were no problem either. I've yet to find a surface it glitches on; in fact, I've stopped carrying a mouse pad for emergency use.Button action is acceptable. The scroll wheel is as smooth as any Microsoft mouse I've used. The side buttons (usually mapped to back/forward) are pretty small, but well placed ergonomically.I like the size. It's a bit bigger than the usual laptop mouse, most of which I consider too small for my medium sized hand. The receiver is a tiny little thing, and I often leave it in the USB port when the computer is off. It has a nice neoprene case to protect it in the laptop bag.One feature some may not like is the on/off switch. There's nothing wrong with it, but many mice no longer have one, so it's one more thing to remember when you are unpacking and packing it. However, even when I've accidentally left it on, it doesn't seem to run down the battery very quickly. The switch is also the cover for the optical element, and that may in fact be it's primary function. I have uploaded a picture showing the switch, and also some coins next to the mouse so you can get a sense of its size. The normal price isn't too bad, and I've seen in as a Deals item a couple of times. In fact, that's why I got my first one. But I liked it so much, I got a spare too.
